The UK has always been my first choice for higher education due to its strong academic reputation and the independence it fosters in students. I believe this autonomy not only prepares one for future challenges but also equips students with the tools necessary to achieve success in their chosen fields. Pursuing a Master’s degree in MA News Journalism Studies is a natural continuation of my academic journey and professional aspirations. This path will help me achieve my goal of speaking for the proletariat through journalism and advocating for the poor, vulnerable, and underrepresented communities. As Tom Stoppard once said, “I still believe that if your aim is to change the world, journalism is a more immediate short-term weapon,” and I am driven by the same belief.

My passion for communication began during my childhood, inspired by my grandfather, who wrote for a local magazine in our small village. Accompanying him to interviews sparked my interest in working with marginalized communities, and this experience nurtured my desire to represent them in the media. This desire became the foundation of my long-term aspiration to be the voice of the unspoken in society.

I first developed practical communication skills while working as a waiter at Pizza Hut, where I learned to work under pressure and improved my ability to communicate effectively. After completing my undergraduate studies, I was fortunate to gain work experience at “poriborton.com,” an online news portal in Chittagong City, where I honed my content creation skills. Following that, I worked as an Assistant Content & Script Developer at Itech Digital Company in Dhaka, where I learned how to write TVC scripts, promotional headlines, and product specifications.

My professional career expanded further when I joined Smart Technologies BD Ltd. as a Content Writer, where I enhanced my knowledge of computer software and hardware. Unfortunately, I lost this job due to the pandemic, but I did not allow the setback to hold me back. After recovering from the COVID-19 situation in Bangladesh, I began working at Aorasoft.com as a Content Writer. In this role, I was responsible for creating content related to policies, shipping procedures, and software specifications, while also exploring SEO copywriting and digital marketing.

Later, I transitioned to a leadership role as the Branch Manager at Smart Solution, a subsidiary of Smart Technologies BD Ltd. Here, I managed financial stability, led content development, and oversaw business analysis, all while making strategic decisions to ensure the branch's success.

Currently, I serve as an Account Manager at SBT Japan, where I specialize in the export-import of vehicles from Japan to Kenya. In this role, I manage customer relations, sales logistics, and ensure smooth transactions. My work here has helped me grow both professionally and personally, as I draw on my passion for psychology and literature to bring creativity and innovation to the field.

Beyond my professional career, I also pursue my passion for writing. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I authored my debut novel, Labiber Vivrom, a collection of thirteen psychological short stories. Writing has always been a way for me to express my creativity and explore new ideas. Currently, I am working on my second book, which continues to fuel my desire for storytelling.

I hold a B.S.S. in Journalism for Electronic & Print Media from Port City International University, where I gained insights into media, communication, and film. The program also allowed me to engage in workshops, seminars, media visits, and creative projects that enriched my understanding of how media functions in society. I found the creative process of breaking down projects, starting with initial ideas, research, and planning, through production and evaluation, particularly rewarding. These experiences have not only prepared me for the academic challenges of a Master's program but also deepened my commitment to journalism as a force for societal change.

Pursuing an MA in News Journalism Studies will give me the opportunity to further develop my skills and fulfill my passion for representing the marginalized. The prospect of conveying complex thoughts to a broad audience, advocating for the voiceless, and contributing to meaningful dialogue in the media world captivates me. I am eager to embark on this journey and believe this program will provide the ideal platform for me to achieve my long-term career goals.
